Dr. Jadis Blurton

Dr. Jadis Blurton M.A., Ph.D. Life-Span Developmental Psychology, M.A., Special Education, Licensed Clinical Psychologist (U.S.A.),

Dr. Blurton has an eclectic and personal approach to therapy, focusing on the specific needs and strengths of individuals, couples, and families. As a therapist, she sees her role as one of guide, supporter, and interpreter, assisting clients to find their own solutions to the problems and emotions that may confront them.

Sophia has provided treatment and counseling to her clients regarding a wide range of issues and subjects, including depression and anxiety disorders, adjustment/transitional difficulties, behavioral modification and management, relationship issues and parenting skills. Her client base spans children and adolescents through adults and she counsels individuals, families and couples. She focuses on the specific needs of each client and her approach is to empower and support her clients and increase their self-awareness and insight.

 

Dr Alison Cook

Allison Cook MB, BS

Dr Cook qualified from London University and worked as a General Medical Practitioner in the UK.

Her work experience includes psychiatry and paediatric positions and an appointment as Community Health Doctor in England, caring for children in mainstream school with medical needs. Dr Cook has pursued her interest in helping children and adults with attention disorders and works with them to improve their working memory. For three years she has supported clients through the Cogmed program, thereby increasing their focus and their functioning in school or the work place.

 

Dr. Sandra Comer

Dr. Sandra Comer M.A., Ph.D. Clinical Psychology

Since 1997. Dr. Comer has been treating adults as well as adolescents in Hong Kong . She works with anxiety and mood disorders, and has specific interest and expertise in eating disorders and body image concerns. Dr. Comer uses a collaborative, time-limited approach that aims to empower clients by teaching them skills that are applicable outside the therapy sessions.

Dr. Bernard Anderson has particular concerns for addressing the needs of individuals and families who are coping with addictions, and is familiar with both 12-step models and harm reduction interventions. He has a strong background in the fields of communication, education and counseling. He holds a Ph.D. in Communications with Post-Graduate Certifications in Education and Media, a Masters in Education, and a Masters in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on mental health and addictions. During his thirty-five year career in Asia, the South Pacific, North America and Europe, he has focused on promoting interpersonal communication and the development of practical life skills among diverse populations.

Advanced studies in Jungian analysis and art therapy.

Dr. Patti Kopstein provides e-therapy appointments to match any schedule, for any time zone in the world. She has practiced psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in a variety of settings in the USA, Israel, New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong. Patti specializes in mid-life, mid-profession, fertility, self-image, anxiety/depression, and relocation issues. As a psychotherapist, she works with clients to explore issue specific difficulties, helping them to find appropriate resolution plans. Psychoanalysis is available for those who desire in-depth, longer term, therapy to discover and work with their patterns, history, and motivation.

 

Regina Lo-Barrington

Regina has worked with adolescents and adults in dealing with issues such as behavioral modification, low self-esteem, relationship, anxiety and work related stress. Her many years of experience in the business world (including holding senior positions in various international companies) provide her with insight and empathy with the business professionals. It also allows her to play a dual role as both a counsellor and an executive coach. Her truly international background – Chinese origin, educated in the U.S. and married to a British with two teenage daughters – gives her a unique understanding of the interracial marriages and related cross-cultural issues. Regina is trained and practices cognitive-behavioural therapy. She is fluent in English and Cantonese.

Sarah approaches therapy for those with communication disorders with energy, compassion, and an appreciation for how each person’s individuality and value contributes to society as a whole. Her experience led her to work with many different people experiencing one or several of the following communication disorders; fluency, articulation, voice, and language. She has additional experience assessing and treating swallowing disorders, cognition, and language for adults in a rehabilitation setting.

Ms. Kou, in addition to providing general counseling services, specializes in art therapy. She has worked extensively with children, adolescents and adults who suffer from a variety of disorders, among them depression, post-traumatic stress, autism, anxiety, bereavement, marital conflicts, attentional deficits, behavioral or impulse control disorders, and schizophrenia. Ms. Kou graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

 

Claudia Otto

Claudia used to work in a hospital for psychotherapy and psychosomatic disorders for adults in Southern Germany near the Lake Constance for 6 years. Her main focuses were psychodynamic oriented Individual Therapy, psychoanalytic oriented Group Therapy, Pain Treatment Program with Psychodrama, Couple Therapy, Relaxation Programs (Autogenic Training, Progressive Muscle Relaxation) and psychological Testing.

Claudia used to work in a multi-cultural environment as she worked with colleagues and clients from different countries, e.g. Europe, South America, Korea. In May 2008 Claudia moved to Hong Kong with her family.
